If we don't know what the soil or plants already have, how do we know what to put in the soil to help the plants and the soil thrive together?  

We offer personal consultations to help you help your plants and soils thrive together. This often includes soil and plant tissue samples which we send off for analysis. With this data we can provide personalized solutions that help improve your soil, strengthen your plants, and improve your yields. We can also recommend other local companies who provide services that we don't offer, such as equipment sales and rentals, cover crop seeds, and healthy locally sourced crops and food.

Consultation Fee: $75

We nurture our own high quality, Johnson-Su (JS) compost with local organic material and red wiggler worms. We allow the worms to process the compost for a full year under optimal conditions. We sell the compost directly or make a liquid compost extract for easier application. Since only 3 pounds are needed per acre, we prefer to apply this as a nutrient dense compost extract. This nutrient and biology filled solution can then be applied via sprayers or irrigation systems. This is great for lawns, gardens, farms, orchards, and vineyards! We've seen healthier plants and much larger yields following Johnson-Su extract application!

In combination with our soil and tissue sampling, we can provide targeted micronutrient additives to restore the natural balance of your soil and plants. 

When plants and soil are working in harmony, we see fewer pest threats and more vibrant plants. We have found that many times the thing that holds our plants back is a lack of micronutrients. Most fertilizers focus on Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium. While these macronutrients are important, we also must address the micronutrients. We provide a very targeted approach to plant nutrition needs.

We provide organic and chemical fertilizer solutions that are healthy for the soil. Many harsh traditional fertilizers have stripped our soils of organic matter and healthy biology. This has created a vicious cycle of nutrient deficient soil, starving plants, and the need for increased fertilizer applications to compensate. Through our customized solutions (see "Personalized Consultations" above), we can help deliver to the plants and soil what they lack in nutrients and biology to restart the dynamic and intricate natural system of health. Granular humates and liquid humic minerals are great tools to boost the health of both soil and gut biology! We recommend adding granular humates to animal feed or to their water. Granular humic minerals are also a great way to counteract the chlorine and chloramine in our water. These chemicals (chlorine & chloramine) are great for getting our water to us safely, but are damaging to soil and gut microbiome. Liquid humic acid is easy to spray on the soil to boost the biology of the soil.

Compost is used to enrich soils with organic matter, discourage weed growth, and provide vital nutrients to the plants we desire to grow. We use local organic material in turned row processes before moving it to a passively aerated static pile for several months to develop higher fungal content. We then screen the compost for uniform content. We intentionally leave some larger wood chips in the compost to help hold open spaces in the soil for oxygen and water. These larger decomposing pieces of wood also house and slowly feed the biology of the soil over time.
